North West – The founder of Africa Unmasked, Ms Thembi Siweya, will officially launch a book reading campaign by handing over five hundred books to leaners of Boikakgong Secondary School in Ramochana Rustenburg, North West on Thursday, 23 March 2017.

Africa Unmasked is an African based cognitive movement aimed at alerting the world and fellow Africans about the state of the continent and possible solutions thereof. This is done through writing and partaking in debates on various platforms.

The books which are not curriculum based are aimed at promoting reading of African authored books by leaners and any other form of books. They willbe donated under the theme:  # Produce a reading leaner #Produce a reader #A reading nation # Donate a book # library.

The learners of Boikakgong Secondary School will be the first one to benefitfrom the programme which is going to distribute books to two schools in each of the nine South African Provinces.

In schools where there are no libraries, Africa Unmasked will help in establishing a library.

The aim is to distribute books beyond South Africa into the SADC region with countries such as Botswana and Zimbabwe being targeted.

  1. Comment: Thank you so MUCH Africa Unmasked for choosing our school as the second one in NW Province, Nchaupe Secondary School in Makapanstad. We really appreciate what you are doing to inculcate the spirit of literature especially by our African authors. Hopefully our learners will be highly encouraged to read and motivated to write books in future. Good work, keep it up!!!
